Prime day drives $14.2 billion in spending

Amazon's summer Prime Day event resulted in record spending, with U.S. retailers generating $14.2 billion over two days. Route reported Amazon's sales increased by 136%, while TikTok and Walmart saw 50%. Significant surges were seen in back-to-school purchases and electronics, with sales up 216% and 61%, respectively.
