Twitter adds picture-in-picture video playback

For the past few years, Twitter has tried different ways to integrate video content with tweets, in the hopes of merging the two, and becoming a more ubiquitous single platform. And now, Twitter is currently testing a picture-in-picture (PiP) video playback feature, allowing users to watch videos while scrolling through their feed.
Why now? As trends like ‘sludge’ clips on TikTok start to rise (i.e. presenting various moving parts within a single display), users are considered more receptive to having multiple feeds on screen. On top of that, the platform is also experimenting with a video download feature that allows selected users to save videos directly from the platform and share with others externally. It's all part of new Twitter CEO, Linda Yaccarino, new plan to make video content a top focus on the platform.
